Somshankar Das

International business executive, investor and entrepreneur operating in technology businesses for the past 30 years, Somshankar (Som) Das is currently Co-Founder and President at Business Accelerator Inc, focused on building and scaling businesses around cutting edge digital technologies. His current portfolio includes companies in Cloud Computing, Cloud ERP, Software Defined Video Solutions, AI and ML in the banking and agriculture sectors, Cognitive IT Operations, Security and eCommerce. Prior to Business Accelerator, Som was Founder, CEO and President of e4e Inc for 10 years, a Business Solutions Company operating between the US and India, with presence in the US Healthcare, Technology and Financial Services industries. e4e’s businesses included value-based services for the technology, financial and healthcare sectors and at its peak deployed 3,000 employees in a global business model with locations in the USA, UK and India. Som has been a General Partner at Walden International, a Venture Capital firm that was a pioneer in India, starting in 1996 ($30 million fund).  His successful investments include WebEx, Mindtree, Sierra Atlantic, Techspan (Headstrong), Venture Infotek, Infotech Enterprises, Siltera etc. Investors have had successful exits from most of these investments. He was Director of Strategic Alliances and World Wide Business Development at VLSI Technology, Inc, a leading semiconductor (ASIC) manufacturer and supplier, and was involved with multiple technology partnerships and transfers between the USA and East Asia / India, including the establishment of a silicon wafer foundry, Siltera, in Malaysia, with $ 1.5 billion in investment. Siltera is an established business today. He holds a Masters Degree in Physics and Mathematics and an MBA from the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University (1985), he has been a charter member of TiE Silicon Valley and in the 1990s was involved with Joint Venture Silicon Valley and US Trade Missions sponsored by the Department of Commerce, US Government, for accessing markets in China.
